photos of The fourth and final day of the Realistic Simulation Training on Nonviolence, implemented by Ahimsa for Nonviolence Organization in the city of Qamishli, as part of the activities of the “Voice of Peace – Youth Against Violence” campaign, within the framework of the “Change Makers” project.
The fourth day focused on ensuring that all participants benefited from the training and on assessing the development of their skills by comparing strengths and areas for improvement before and after the program, reflecting the training’s impact at both the individual and group levels.
Key topics addressed during the session included:
- Competency Demonstration Exercise, aimed at highlighting the changes participants noticed in themselves, the benefits gained from the sessions, and evaluating the skills acquired throughout the training.
- “Assessment and Empowerment” Activity, conducted through group work to analyze individual skill cards covering: active listening, “I” messages, managing the mediator role, and calmness and tone control.
- The session concluded with a summary of the core pillars of the training, which included:
- Safe rules: the foundation of practicing nonviolence.
- The three roles: managing conflict through nonviolence.
- Practical tools: the language of nonviolence.
- Realistic simulation: testing the difference between violence and nonviolence.
- Evaluation and personal commitments: spreading a culture of nonviolence within the community.
- An individual evaluation activity enabling each participant to identify their strengths and areas for improvement in practicing nonviolence.
- Drafting personal commitments to connect the training with daily life and transform nonviolence into a continuous practice.
- Emphasizing that every component of the training—from rules to roles, tools, and simulation—forms an interconnected foundation for building a culture of nonviolence.
- Reaffirming that nonviolence is not a slogan, but an integrated approach based on awareness, practice, and continuity.
In conclusion, the fourth day served as a moment of evaluation and empowerment, concluding the training with clear messages that strengthened participants’ commitment to transferring and applying a culture of nonviolence in their daily lives and within their communities, in line with the objectives of the “Change Makers” project.
