In response to the needs identified during the first phase and the community’s growing demand for more trees, Ahimsa for Nonviolence Organization implemented the second phase of the “Plant It” Campaign as part of the Masar Project in Al-Hasakah City, targeting the neighborhoods of Tal Hajar, Marsho, and the Church Roundabout, in coordination with the Department of Environment and Municipalities.
This initiative reflects our commitment to environmental protection as a shared community responsibility and reinforces the values of nonviolence and peacebuilding.
The second phase was launched in response to the strong community engagement witnessed during the first phase and the increasing demand expressed by local residents for additional trees.
This highlighted the importance of the initiative and its role in raising environmental awareness and encouraging community participation in protecting the environment.
The “Plant It” Campaign aims to promote environmental awareness and reject environmental violence by encouraging sustainable agricultural practices that respond to the region’s changing environmental conditions.
It also promotes the concept of basin planting as an effective and sustainable approach to conserving natural resources.
As part of the second phase, 40 Eastern Gall Oak (Quercus infectoria) trees were distributed in planting basins across the targeted areas.
The campaign also continued distributing awareness brochures and informational posters to encourage community members to adopt environmentally friendly practices and contribute to expanding green spaces.
