Ahimsa Organization for Nonviolence implemented the first session of the organizational dialogue meetings activity within the “Change Makers” project, which brought together 15 organizations from different areas, including Raqqa, Hasakah, and Qamishli.
The session addressed several key themes aimed at integrating nonviolence concepts into the organizational structures of organizations, and enhancing a culture of cooperation and effective communication.
Topics covered during the session included:
- Introductions and ice-breaking through the “Circle of Experience” activity, aiming to create a comfortable environment and a shared ground for exchanging ideas among participants.
- Highlighting a number of principles, including cooperation and equal opportunities, responsibility-taking, experience sharing, and role distribution.
- Nonviolent communication “Giraffe Language”.
- Reviewing methods and strategies that can be used to strengthen nonviolence principles within organizational structures.
- Group work to reframe nonviolent work policies, aiming to transform nonviolence into mechanisms and written policies and link them to organizational processes.
- The nonviolent commitment activity, aimed at strengthening individual and organizational commitment to nonviolence principles.
In conclusion, the meeting yielded rich and valuable outcomes, as ideas and experiences were exchanged, contributing to the development of integrated strategies that enhance a culture of nonviolence within organizational structures.
