Ahimsa Organization for Nonviolence implemented a field activity in the city of Qamishli as part of the “Change Makers” project within the series of activities of the “Voice of Peace / Youth Against Violence” campaign. The activity consisted of distributing a booklet prepared by the team entitled “Principles and Tools of Nonviolence in Administrative and Civil Institutions”.

The activity targeted 20 administrative institutions and civil society organizations, where the team distributed the booklet accompanied by short introductory sessions to explain its content and discuss its key tools with staff members in these institutions.

The booklet presents a set of principles and practical tools that help workers in administrative and civil institutions to:
• Manage conflicts in constructive ways
• Reduce tension within the work environment
• Transform conflicts into opportunities for learning and development
• Promote a safe, just, and humane work environment
• Establish a culture of dialogue and mutual respect

This activity comes as part of ongoing efforts to promote a culture of nonviolence and support civil and administrative institutions with practical, nonviolent tools that contribute to building more peaceful and cohesive communities.
