Ahimsa organized a three-day training workshop on the basics of working with Microsoft Excel as part of the “Internal Knowledge Exchange” capacity-building program at the Ahimsa Center for Nonviolence in Al-Hasakah.
The training was selected as the third key topic to be shared and utilized through the organization’s knowledge exchange initiative.
Main topics covered during the workshop:
- Introduction to the main interface and icons with practical application (File tab – Home tab – Insert tab – Data tab – View tab).
- Designing tables and applying several practical instructions, enabling participants to create structured tables by the end of the first day.
- Defining and creating tables, adding columns or rows, and changing table designs.
- Functions: trim, sum, min, average, max.
- Number sequencing and using shortcuts such as Ctrl+C.
- Repeating names automatically.
- Using selection functions for multiple values.
- Conditional formulas and formatting.
- Identifying duplicate values.
- Data bar formatting and freezing columns.
- Converting data into charts.
- Inserting images, highlighting cells, deleting data, and splitting columns
By the end of the training, participants were able to practically apply all the instructions, confidently working with Excel sheets and performing various data tasks independently.
