Ahimsa Organization for Nonviolence implemented the seventh capacity-building session entitled “The Nonviolent Intervention Guide and Its Strategies” as part of the “Change Makers” Project. The session focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of how to apply the steps of the Nonviolent Intervention Guide, along with selected strategies from the Dictionary of Nonviolence, and linking them to practical, real-life contexts.

The seventh session addressed a number of key topics, including:

  • Exploring tools and strategies for peaceful change such as petitions, reconciliation, and negotiation.
  • Working in small groups to analyze nonviolent strategies and connect them to reality by identifying concrete examples implemented in the local context.
  • Discussing the steps of the Nonviolent Intervention Guide.
  • Small group work focused on applying the steps of the Nonviolent Intervention Guide by designing nonviolent interventions for real-life conflicts drawn from the local context.
  • Providing nonviolent advice and recommendations aimed at reaching genuine, violence-free interventions.

By the conclusion of the session, participants became capable of implementing realistic nonviolent interventions, drawing on peaceful tools and strategies and the Nonviolent Intervention Guide, enabling them to contribute to creating positive change within their communities.
