The Rainbow Youth Team held the second training workshop as part of the “Steps Towards Peace” campaign, with support from Pel Civil Waves Organization, on UN Security Council Resolution 2250, at Pel Organization hall in Al-Hasakah.
Sixteen young men and women from civil society associations and organizations participated in the workshop, which lasted two days and included a preliminary assessment of the participants and a discussion of a number of key topics, most notably:
- The concept of youth and their role in society.
- General concepts related to peace.
- An introduction to the Security Council, its objectives, and its membership.
- The provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2250.
- The importance of the resolution in promoting youth participation in peace processes.
This workshop complements the efforts of the Steps Towards Peace campaign, which seeks to empower young people and promote the values of peace and social cohesion in the city of Al-Hasakah and northeastern Syria.
