The Rainbow Youth Team held the second training workshop entitled “Mobilization and Advocacy” as part of the Steps Towards Peace campaign, with support from Pel Civil Waves Organization in Al-Hasakah.
Sixteen participants from civil society associations and organizations took part in the two-day workshop, which included a preliminary assessment of the participants and a discussion of a number of key topics, including:
- Concepts and terminology related to advocacy.
- Reasons for and importance of using advocacy.
- Advocacy goals and principles.
- How to mobilize and advocate.
- Analyzing the current situation and selecting advocacy goals.
- Choosing between strategic alternatives.
- Mobilization methods and forms of financing advocacy campaigns.
- The cycle of advocacy and gaining support.
This workshop complements the efforts of the “Steps Towards Peace” campaign to empower young people and strengthen their role in spreading the values of peace and social cohesion in the city of Al-Hasakah and northeastern Syria.
