Ahimsa Organization conducted a field activity consisting of a visit to “Diyari Falaki Shrine,” belonging to the Yazidi community, in coordination with Yazidi activist “Naseem Shamo.” This activity was part of the Mosaic Initiative, which aims to introduce the diverse cultures in the region and correct misconceptions among youth in Al-Qahtaniyah, within the “Masar” project.

The visit aimed to enhance knowledge and understanding of Yazidi culture and religion, and to explore their religious rituals, customs, and traditions through an approach based on dialogue, openness, and mutual understanding among different community components.

During the visit, the team was welcomed by activist Naseem Shamo, who provided a detailed explanation of the Yazidi faith, highlighting key religious practices in daily life, as well as the cultural and social dimensions of this community.

The dialogue also contributed to correcting many misconceptions and rumors circulating within society, helping to build a more accurate and realistic understanding of Yazidi culture.

The visit was characterized by an atmosphere of mutual respect and openness, creating space for dialogue and questions, and reinforcing the values of pluralism and peaceful coexistence among different communities.
