Ahimsa Organization held the ninth session of its capacity-building training series in Al-Hasakah, as part of “Masar” Project, in cooperation with the Steps Center in Lebanon and under the guidance of trainers specialized in nonviolence and peaceful conflict transformation.
This session focused on exploring the connection between conflict and violence, raising key questions such as:
- Where does this connection come from?
- Who benefits from linking conflict to violence?
Participants also delved deeper into conflict analysis tools, including:
- Introducing and applying the Onion Tool and its practical uses.
- Working in groups to analyze real-life conflicts they had personally experienced, which helped make the analytical process more concrete and relevant.
The session enhanced participants’ ability to understand conflicts more deeply, separate them from violence, and seek nonviolent alternatives for addressing them.
It also highlighted how oppressive and unjust systems often push individuals toward violence—overwhelming them with their struggles and preventing them from reflecting on deeper, transformative dimensions.
