Ahimsa Organization held the second session of the “Capacity Building Training Series – (Part 2)” in Al-Hasakah, within the framework of the “Masar” Project, in cooperation with the Steps Center in Lebanon, and under the supervision of specialized trainers in the fields of nonviolence and peaceful conflict transformation.
This session came as a continuation of the first phase of trainings aimed at promoting a culture of nonviolence and peacebuilding, and empowering participants to apply nonviolent skills within their communities.
The session covered several key topics, including:
- Watching a film and discussing the insights drawn from it.
- Conducting an analytical exercise on various conflict scenarios.
- Discussing a set of core concepts related to conflict and violence.
In addition, preparations were made to work on the community mapping exercise, which included:
- Outlining the general structure of the target community.
- Conducting meetings with local residents to gain a deeper understanding of their reality.
- Identifying safe zones, danger areas, and spaces where women participate.
- Observing community issues through sessions with mothers and youth groups, depending on accessibility.
- Collecting and systematically recording the information on the community map.
Finally, the participants were divided into two groups — each assigned to a specific area — to document their findings and record them on dedicated sheets.
