Ahimsa Organization held a session titled “Managing Diversity and Accepting Others” as part of the Mosaic initiative, which aims to introduce the different cultures in the region, correct common misconceptions among young people, and promote values of understanding and mutual respect among the diverse communities in Hasakah, within the framework of the “Masar Project.”
The session covered several main points, including:
- An interactive activity that highlighted cultural differences while helping participants recognize the common bonds people share despite their diversity.
- A focus on how stereotypes shape social relationships and how they lead to unfair judgments and unjustified discrimination against certain groups.
- A discussion about the realities faced by marginalized groups, the challenges they encounter due to racism and social exclusion, and the importance of integrating them into the community.
- Emphasizing the value of cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence as a foundation for strengthening mutual understanding and living harmoniously among different groups.
- Working on ideas and suggestions that can help spread a culture of acceptance and diversity within the community.
The session concluded with a reminder that real change starts from within, and that embracing shared living becomes possible when individuals take responsibility for fostering a more inclusive society.
