Ahimsa for Nonviolence Organization implemented the second day of the Realistic Nonviolence Simulation Training in the city of Qamishli, as part of the activities of the “Voice of Peace – Youth Against Violence” campaign within the framework of the “Ruwad Al-Taghyir” project.
The second-day session focused on deepening the practical application of nonviolence skills and engaging all participants through interactive training methods that enabled them to apply theoretical concepts to real-life situations drawn from their daily experiences.
Key themes addressed during the session included:
- An interactive activity titled “Random Ball Exchange”, allowing participants to share nonviolent situations they had experienced since the previous day.
- The “One Sentence” activity, aimed at clarifying the difference between violence and nonviolence, during which participants shared the sentences they had written.
- Highlighting the roles involved in realistic nonviolence simulation (direct party, mediator, supporter/observer) and the skills associated with each role.
- A triad exercise with role rotation to strengthen participants’ practical understanding of simulation roles.
- Performing a sketch depicting a violent scene, followed by an analysis to identify the causes of conflict and explore nonviolent ways to address it.
- Enacting a conflict-related sketch while deconstructing the situation and distinguishing between the idea and its execution.
- Active participation by trainees in analyzing scenarios, identifying the causes of disagreement, and proposing nonviolent solutions.
The session provided a rich space for experiential learning and collective interaction, contributing to the enhancement of participants’ skills in using nonviolence as a practical tool for conflict management.
In conclusion, the second day represented an advanced step in the training process and contributed to empowering youth to apply the principles of nonviolence in realistic and effective ways, in line with the objectives of the project and the campaign.
