Ahimsa Organization for Nonviolence implemented the Nonviolent Youth Forum in the city of Qamishli, within the framework of the \u201cChange Makers\u201d project, as part of the series of activities under the \u201cVoice of Peace \/ Youth Against Violence\u201d campaign. The forum aimed to promote a culture of nonviolence and transform it from a theoretical concept into a daily practice in the lives of individuals and the wider community.<\/p>\n

The session included a range of interactive activities focused on strengthening both individual and collective awareness of nonviolence concepts and tools. It began with an introduction and ice-breaking activity among participants, followed by drafting a shared charter to organize dialogue and ensure an environment based on mutual respect.<\/p>\n

The main themes that were addressed included:<\/p>\n

  1. The \u201cNonviolence Map\u201d activity, aimed at enhancing self-awareness and building peaceful alternatives to previously violent situations.<\/li>\n
  2. Analyzing the phenomenon of violence and hate speech to understand the reasons behind its spread and its impact on social peace.<\/li>\n
  3. Examining real-life situations within four environments (family \u2013 workplace \u2013 friends \u2013 community) to enable participants to apply nonviolence tools in practical contexts.<\/li>\n
  4. Highlighting the possibility of transforming nonviolence into daily behavior by exploring real-life challenges and encouraging commitment to everyday nonviolent practice.<\/li>\n
  5. The \u201cLetter to My Future Self\u201d activity, aimed at strengthening personal commitment to nonviolence values and fostering internal motivation.<\/li>\n
  6. Reading and discussing the Nonviolence Guide to deepen theoretical understanding of nonviolence principles and connect them to practical application.<\/li>\n
  7. The Gratitude Circle activity, aimed at reinforcing positive emotions and supporting peaceful behavior.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These activities are part of ongoing efforts to spread a culture of nonviolence, strengthen its practical tools, and empower youth to play an active role in confronting hate speech and building more peaceful and cohesive communities.<\/p>\n
